Caitlin holds licenses as a Mental Health Counselor and as a 200hr RYT Embodied Yoga Instructor. She is a firm believer in the integration of mind and body processes for healing. Her academic credentials include a dual-master's degree in Counseling and Sport & Health Psychology from Adler University. Caitlin brings to the table 7 years of professional experience in the counseling field.
In addition to her counseling duties, Caitlin also functions as a professional development trainer for Aviv, assisting fellow clinicians in refining their client-facing skills. Her work emphasizes individual client needs, using creative, client-focused techniques and experiences to personalize the therapeutic process. Caitlin's philosophy in counseling incorporates elements of self-awareness, self-compassion, and joy recognition. She also places high importance on understanding her clients' cultural and spiritual beliefs and values ensuring a tailored, respectful, and personally relevant path to healing.
Caitlin has received training in diverse techniques. These range from Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and trauma-focused therapy, to Arenas for Change (ArCH: a narrative-based animal-assisted therapy approach) and Eco-therapy. She is also well-versed in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Adlerian Therapy.
In her practice, Caitlin often includes brain-based theories such as Polyvagal Theory. She believes that educating clients about the biological basis of their symptoms can help them better understand their experience without judgment, and regain control over their lives.
Throughout her career, Caitlin has devoted significant time to assisting clients impacted by trauma, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and disordered eating. Additionally, she has worked in the areas of athletics and performance. She has accumulated experience in a broad range of environments including inpatient, residential, intensive outpatient therapy settings, home-based therapy, and within athletic teams.
During her personal time, Caitlin enjoys practicing and teaching yoga, exploring the outdoors, discovering new coffee shops and local spots, and spending quality time with her rescue dog.
