His approach to therapy is primarily influenced by psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and narrative perspectives, but more importantly relies on the individual’s unique experiences and perspectives.

Brandon believes that clients are the true experts in the therapeutic process, and that the therapeutic alliance, empathy, and humor are what drive meaningful work. Brandon also recognizes the impacts of broader societal forces like racism, sexism, and ableism on mental health.

As a therapist who was born blind he recognizes that coping with discrimination negatively impacts our mental health, and that naming and challenging these outside forces in therapy can lead to self-empowerment and healing.
